Mission: To promote literacy through teaching and learning about the African roots experience, including history and culture, through a dynamic exchange of information, ideas and creativity.
The African Roots Center uplifts the history and culture of Black, Indigenous and People of Color. We do so with programs for children, teens and adults, through our Library collection, with our After School Program, and by making our space available to community groups and organizations that share our commitment to the advancement of historical knowledge, cultural enrichment, civic engagement and social justice. As a volunteer-driven organization, everything we provide to the community is free.
